Nope.
We had some concrete foundations cut at the plant last year. The operator wraps the wire around the block, possibly notching the corners so it doesn't wander, turn on the flood and start the wire to moving. A stand alone variable drive ran a setup to pull the wire and maintain tension as the cut progressed through the blocks.
The "Blade" is a wire rope with diamond impregnated metal beads crimped on every inch or two. the two ends are crimped together with a ferrule and simply cut to tear back down after the job is done.
It took about 15 minutes to saw through a 2' x 8' steel reinforced concrete pillar. Setup and teardown took about 3 times as long as the actual cutting.
