Replacement the damaged/broken plastic fitment with a new one made it from a piece of aluminum using simple tools;
Hacksaw, file, drill press, drill bits (ø3 - 4.2 - 5mm), m5x0.8 tap and a cutting/engraving tool

that I am not sure what is the correct terminology in English.

Nice job making a new collection bag mount, it should give you a good service for a very long time.
You may have been able to save yourself a lot of pre drilling with a different tooth count hacksaw blade.
I try ti keep an 18 or 24 tooth blade around for things like that. the fine tooth blades clog up too much for me. Like you no doubt found out since you had to drill a line of holes before making the shape cuts.
In some areas the coarse tooth blades are hard to find but worth it.

You are absolutely right.
As you said the coarse tooth blades do the job much easier.
Also using the fine tooth blades with a little bit of petroleum then can be does the cut easier but not like the coarse tooth blades.
Unfortunately a couple of years ago I had lend to my neighbor the last blade from a pack of twelve pieces that I had buy at 90’s, that he broke it at the first use.
I have searched many times and I can’t find such blades at my city's market any more.
Perhaps it is an accessory that dying, if it hasn't die yet.
But I think that we can live without that.

yes I haven't seen any of the 18 tooth for years at the hardware stores but can still find the 24 once in a while. I don't use a hacksaw very often but try to keep a good stock of blades and will usually buy a pack if I find some that I think are good ones to keep in stock. because I never know when I or a neighbor might need one.

Kess these are plentiful from Ebay suppliers and this type I have found the best for my hacksaw machine and hand frame. 24T can be useful for thin stock and harder metals.

Thanks for your reference, but I am a person of the old school, I like to see the tools alive before to buying.
But I think that I could do an exception, at least for something that is hard to find it at the market.

I agree, seeing tools in person, there is no substitute. But once you can rely on a preferred brand, the internet saves a lot of driving around. I've been absorbing 3/4" crown staples in just that manner. They don't appear to be made anymore.

Also hadn't noticed an issue with 18 pitch hack blades. Still using those acquired in the past. But will start looking!

As my son lives in England, I will call him bring me a pack of 18 and a pack of 24tpi when he comes for Christmas.
