    If you decide to make one of these it's a simple doodle to add a binocular holder so the binoculars can be held on a tripod - good arm/shoulder relief for extended viewing sessions.

    Most better binoculars have a 1/4-20 fitting for just this purpose. Look at the outboard end of the shaft that connects the two lenses. There may be a protective cap that must be unscrewed/unclipped before the threaded fitting is released. This is what it looks like on my Pentax binoculars...

    A simple aluminum bar with a hole for a 1/4-20 screw and angled ends (like the part that attaches to the camera in my original post above) will allow you to quickly attach and detach your binoculars to a tripod.
