Likely scenario, thrown out with related tools, by unappreciative grandson.

And, See? I'm not the only one cutting tape with scissors........

Me, neither! Some tapes tear easily, but if you want clean lines, you need to use scissors. And some tapes, you need a good sharp knife or scissors to cut. I've got a Leatherman Micra, and a Leatherman Style CS, both miniature multi-tools that can hang on a key ring, and both have small scissors in them. I've almost always got a pair of scissors within reach.
