I thought I would look for the motor (a replacement part) online, not much to see, but I did find a controller for a Matrix T7xi and here is the label on it:



So - that motor controller output is for a three phase AC motor and likely is a VFD. Check the controller of the treadmill you are getting and you may find the info you need...

The Life Fitness CLST motor or motor controller is hard to get an image of, but there are a number of listings of that company's motors and they list as DC motors. The motor has a nameplate, but the images are just too small to read anything online.
