I think he did that on purpose, knowing what might happen.

My question is, which more stupid?

1) Not having any idea that could happen? or 2) Knowing it could happen and doing it anyway so he could post it for others to see how stupid he is?

I am voting for #2. Which in my view is the more stupid situation. #1 is just ignorant, which it not quite as bad as stupid. Although I admit they are close.

It has been an urban legend for years that a potato WITH a hole bored through it will silence a revolver. I just went to YouTube and it does quiet a gun down a very little bit.
I had a friend who was robbed by a guy that pointed a revolver with a potato on the end at him and my friend gave the guy what he wanted. I guess he didn't know that the bad guy would probably have been caught. Or he just didn't want to get shot.

I made a suppressor one time for my favorite .22LR, back when I was very young. The intent was to use it for squirrel hunting, which I loved to do. It worked very well. You literally could only hear the action of the rifle when it fired, and just a bare "pffft" from the end of the barrel.

Not knowing how illegal it was to have such a thing at the time, I proudly told a game warden friend of mine about my successful creation. To my surprise, I got quite a scolding about it and was told very quickly to get rid of it immediately. Oh well....
