    Rockwell Sander Restoration

I got this sander a while back and just now decided to do something with it, I'm working on a couple of tool designs but decided to tackle this time consuming task before I got machining on my next tool, I should have this next tool done in a couple of weeks, I been looking at this sander sitting all by itself in the corner for quiet sometime so I went for it and did it, man am I glad that's over.

Had to fabricate a few parts such as the table support brackets, a belt guard, the belt tensioning adjuster, all new stainless steel hardware, belt, bearings and cast iron pulleys.

All and all I think it came out pretty good, if you compare it to what it looked like before.
Below are some photos of before and after
    As always
Thanks for looking and happy machining

Oh My, Doug. You turned the beast into a beauty!! Terrific restoration is an understatement. I noted you left off the protractor off the new brackets. Do you mainly use it at 90º or use a digital angle finder? Thanks for sharing the great pictures and build. ~PJ

    Thanks PJs
I mainly use it 90°, The other side to the table protractor was broken so I just made it a permanent 90°, works fine for me

    Thanks Guy

    Well, there goes the patina...

A beautiful job, and one that shows the skill and the patience of the craftsman. I hope you post images of future projects.

    Sincerely,
