This is film of the first mass airborne assault of 1500 paratroops performed in 1936 . Among the spectators that day was Hermann Göring, the German Luftwaffe Supreme Commander, who took the concept back and establish the very formidable "Fallschirmjäger," or "Hunters from the Sky." Those troops would be the best trained and equipped soldiers produced by Germany during the War.
