I also noticed once the guy went down and acquiesced they didn't bull rush him and grind him into the pavement for 10 minutes screaming for him to stop resisting. Knee on the neck and that kind of thing...

No need to shoot a person that doesn't have a long range weapon, just use a longer one to subdue him!

Because he gave up the knife and . . . voluntarily put his other arm behind him to get cuffed.

This was Japan right? are we to assume that none of the police had trained with the BO. A training Bo with 1 end padded similar to the US Military training aid Pugil stick is the best mostly non damaging defensive weapon in a case like this. Make a feigned jab towards her face then at the last instant when she brings her hands up to block the thrust make a quick powerful left and right swing to disarm the person. then a jab to the gut will fold them like limp noodles a 2nd officer could cuff them while the officer with the BO kept control. No drawn-out drama no Jackie Chan theatrics. And best of all no one close enough to sharp shiny objects while they are being wielded.
Ok maybe it was China or another of the oriental countries Training is everything no matter the country. And the police of this country should all be military vets

Need some high voltage taser probes on these devices to make them a bit better.

I'm posting this here because of the modified sasumata with the hinged bars, used to capture the woman's leg.

Other than that, I have many questions.

The guy after the battering ram rushed into position to get a video!

Good takedown I'd say. The laundry basket things are lightweight, see through, & make excellent deflectors for anyone not in excellent shape with an idea of how to swing those cleavers for maximum effect. They didn't have to tase her & they stayed away from the sharp things & got her down & disarmed. It takes a bunch of people to humanely handle a crazy person.
