3:44 shows those "pins" actually penetrating the main column on the control monitor screen. My guess is the 4 outrigger supports AND the central ones would all be engaged while doing any lifting operations. You can see the receiving holes at 0:11. The smaller section on the right shows holes 90 degrees apart around the column pieces so they're on a t least 3 sides of the columns. I'd love to see them bring in, assemble and tip up that climber crane! If it was really a marvel it would walk up, set the first two or three sections from the ground then sit up by itself and draw up to the base pieces and attach. Then when it's done it walks over to the next site and start over!
