Gday, the micrometer is clamped in the holder which frees up both hands, ill try and remember to show it in the next video, cheers

It's also supposed to keep the micrometer from heating up from your hands, to give the most accurate possible reading, among other things. Not essential in most shops, but a very nice to have if you ever do high-precision work. They were also often an apprenticeship project.
