I remember these, and they worked. Not a fan of one-fits-all hand tools, they cannot fit every applicable fastener properly. But when supreme work isn't called for, or alternative is hauling a mixed bunch of tools up a ladder.....

One distinction is they didn't jam and become quite difficult to remove. I think modern versions have a slight taper in the jaw, which creates that undesirable fit, can't even back off the adjustment nut.
