My grandmother's house was Amish built around the turn of the 20th century and it had absolutely gorgeous pocket doors she used to close off part of the house to heat it in the winter. It had radiant heat and she'd shut down most of the radiators in the 6 bedroom house and close off the upstairs, which had a 4 bedroom apartment in it complete with 2 bathrooms and a full kitchen.
