Small beltsander/lathe attachment for rotary tool.

I made a simple belt sander attachment for dremel rotary tool.
Material i used 3mm thick steel and wheels from a skateboard.

Structure is very simple and Its made from 5 pieces, connected together with nuts and screws.
Sander is powered with a Dremel 4000 rotary tool wich can be removed after use.

"Plans with the main measures" measures are in millimeters. One inch is 25.4 millimeters.

Later i made a little changes to it and now its an attachment in my rotary tool lathe construction.
Modified a splash guard from a dremel tool to hold the rotary tool, so its very quick and easy to attach.

I used that dremels rubbery sanding drum holder. It has worked nicely. Simple solution. ��

I was building another angle grinder attachment yesterday...
Then i suddenly just figured out, how to make good diy pulley for dremel belt sander, and how to adjust belt tracking easily.

Took some time, but finally i got it.

So.. i tought i remake this build.
Modified original build to use 520 or 533 x 30mm belts.
Also cut it smaller and lighter.

Works nicely.

Here is about making the pulley. Real Diy solution, but works nicely. Also its light weighted. I think weight is very important with tools in this size.

Yeah.. now i wonder why i didn't think it earlier.
That rubber plug is inteted to protect threads in sandplasting.

Its very elastic. I have used them for noise / fibration dampening too, under table / chair legs. Specially good in sauna or bathroom when it protects wood from the moisture too.

Those are sold in 50 pcs packs here, so its good to have use for surplus too. :)

On the late show here, but yes they are great for lots of uses and keep some around. They can be used for removing rust on chrome with a little water also and years ago I built a prototype sodium vapor lamp using them with wax seal for the tube evacuation. Didn't last long as the silver braze melted and the electrodes fell off...but the stoppers held up. :p
