Yeah.. now i wonder why i didn't think it earlier.
That rubber plug is inteted to protect threads in sandplasting.

Its very elastic. I have used them for noise / fibration dampening too, under table / chair legs. Specially good in sauna or bathroom when it protects wood from the moisture too.

Those are sold in 50 pcs packs here, so its good to have use for surplus too.
