on the work surface. They're "lossy" enough that any small object dropped on them loses all its energy into the cloth and remains exactly where it landed. The bright colors make it easy to locate tiny findings.

You'll "sproing" fewer tweezer-held objects if you use plastic-tipped tweezers. They can be bought...
