Hi Jon,
Maybe we could have a tool of the year ?
And also, maybe we could have a distinction per big category : best metal working tool / best wood working tool / automotive ...
(of the year/month/quarter ?)
Also, I think beside the simple publication of a new tool, some kind of recognition could be given to the editing aspect, best written article.
Another suggestion would be to encourage people towards knowledge sharing, and thus attributing and award to the best "how to" could be an idea.
Just some ideas, read you soon !
