A stripped spark plug thread was the least of their worries now with all of the swarf blown into the cylinder.

Nah, if the machine isn't worth taking the motor apart to fix it properly then a quick vacuum with a small hose would probably be good enough for a ten dollar repair job.

Totally agree Frank...10 minutes to pull the head on that and do it properly...but probably need a new head gasket. Thought this was interesting when I looked up Kulvakdaru....."Kuvaldaru" refers to a YouTube and TikTok creator known for modifying and racing lawnmowers, including a Husqvarna with a V8 engine swap.

If his work is like this I wouldn't trust him to sweep the shop floors.

Kind of harsh treatment for a guy that's demonstrating an insert product on a junk lawn mower.

If the engine is otherwise nearing end of life, then go for it if not, I sincerely hope you are joking. It will take longer to feed and twist a very small vacuum tube to vacuum out the cylinder then run a bore scope in to search for any you may have missed then try and vacuum out the rest to insure nothing has been left behind, than it would take to remove the head in the first place.

A $10.00 repair job is just that. Or better described as a new engine purchase in waiting.

If a guy is real careful with a powerful vacuum over the hole while drilling and tapping. possibly using a special adapter to fit over the hole that he can pass a drill bit or tap through he might get away without losing any chips down in the cylinder bore.

Ford came out with a special extraction tool to remove their stupidly designed new type sparkplugs when they went to coil overs. Dealerships wound up having to do a lot of cylinder head removals and even engine replacements due in part to lazy or poorly trained technicians not doing their jobs correctly or even if they did their job correctly, the tool just didn't work properly every time.

This very well may be true. But the video would have been less controversial with the head off the engine

And much higher production value too...it's just a demo, I'd imagine most folks that see it know this and whoever follows the process in the video as gospel may have already messed up their lawn mower in numerous worse ways.

You may be right that it's a bit harsh based on being a commercial ad for some helicoil system of Russian design with no instructions on the back at (5 sec). However this guy supposedly builds "Racing Lawnmowers" as a "Creator" on YT & TT...which is a cool idea, but if his builds use these techniques, personally I'm appalled but may be inclined to allow him to pass me tools and clean the shop after a proper job.

Franks Say's it best I think:

Could probably roll the crank over until the intake valve is open then blast compressed air in the intake valve to blow chips out while tapping. That might be the best bet. I still wouldn't trust it 100% though.
