Stamping and hole punching tool for hydraulic press.

Made this jig for stamping sheet metals, it also works when punching holes.

I like to make tools that can be used many ways, it saves material and space.

I have couple projects where i can use this tool. I shared it, because i tought one can get ideas from it.

Cone shaped ends are stamped.

Bottom is flat, because i weld M8 nuts behind the plates, to attach leds and hose fittings.

Made a "stress test" with 4mm alumine plate. I need to punch hundreds of holes to 1mm thick plates to make heat exchanger, so it looks promising.
Didn't want to waste that test piece, so i used it for this.

Nice build with your usual excellent designs Tuomas. The punched holes looked very clean with hardly any roll over. Sooo, What will you use the discs for?? :idea:

Thanks buddy.

Actually my wife uses them. To decorate handbags and stuff like that.

Also those could look quite nice if inlayed to hide dowels / screws. That was what i planned. It seems that i have plenty for both of us soon. :)

Can you describe the axel a bit more?
What material did you use - something hardened or just cold rolled steel?
Is there any special geometry to the business end of the axel (not the chamfered end) or is it just a flat surface?

Its stainless 317. Hard enough for to be used with alumine.
I supposed to make better version some day... But i haven't needed it. This one worked nicely with the task i made it. ( I'll post a pic from the finished heat exchanger if i found any )
