Hi Christophe,
Thanks for the kind words; we certainly try to make the site addictive.
We're glad to hear that we're encouraging you to keep your own site updated. Sending traffic to the sites of homemade tool builders is our specialty.
Altair, DIYer, kbalch, and Jon all work for HomemadeTools.net. Going forward, we plan to add custom user titles in the forum to make those relationships clearer.
Per copyright law, we're allowed to post a single reduced-size image of a tool, linked to the original resource like Google Images. We also credit the builder and website, which Google Images does not do. We will sometimes contact the original builders, either by email, or by posting in their forums, but sometimes we simply can't reach them.
Glad you noticed those newsletter changes. Though we feature several forum-posted tools in each issue (formerly called "Forum Threads to Watch" and recently renamed "Tools Contributed in the Forum") we're planning to do even more to highlight directly contributed tools (such as our new "Homemade Tool of the Week" section).
Thanks for your great comments and for being a valued member of the site!
Best regards,
Ken
