Thanks JR. I would think contact cement would have a hard time with the UHMW...who knew?
FIY, I got some industrial grade double sided tape a few years ago that takes the heat and has an incredible shear strength as well as thin. I'm pretty sure it is 3M and may be used in aircraft assembly. I remembered using it at work for some R&D thing for a nasty environment and tracked it down. It was about $10-$12 a roll but worth it for something like this I think. I've used it on Delrin, PE, UHMW, AL, Steel and still on most of it, although I have replaced it like you are talking about and must use a heat gun to soften it up and solvent for any residue...and still have half a roll I think. I'll get number off of it and post it for you and others. Can't remember where I got it but likely Amazon has it now. There are bonding agents for UHMW specifically but pricey.
Again nice setup and build. Thanks for sharing. ~PJ
