That really is a versatile 3rd hand device especially since it can be clamped to a work piece or bolted to a table There are so many times when having to fit multiple items to an existing project where you need a 3rd and sometimes even a 4th had hand just to hold an item in place. not only for welding fabrication but at times they can come in handy for assembly work as well.
