I had this gem below in my bookmarks. For those wondering, this $70 penlight features an FDA-approved mouthpiece.

Gucci of tools is right. God do I hate Snap-On. How many times have we seen an apprentice mechanic with a $30,000 tool box and just as much in tools. The toolbox in my shop cost less than $2000, is 80% as good as a Snap-on and takes up half a wall.

Adam Savage from Mythbusters said something that I thought was absolutely genius. Don't buy expensive tools. Buy everything cheap. When the cheap one breaks, then replace it with the expensive tool.

That was my philosophy long before I heard of Mr. Savage. Especially for tools I didn't expect to use a lot. If I wind up using it enough to wear it out or break it, it was obvious I needed a better tool. The money saved on the little used tools easily pays for the higher use quality tools.

At my estate auction, it probably won't matter what it says on the tool, they will all be used...

Heck, neither Snap-on nor Craftsman have a lifetime warranty anymore but..... Harbor Freight does, the proverbial paradigm shift.
