    It was bad enough being pushed out of a perfectly good aircraft on my first jump. to think of intentionally torching my main just to see if the secondary functioned would have been an act of insanity.

    I used to have my skydiver certification. It was fun for a little while. You have two rings to control right/left and speed, and the forward wind speed is what inflates the chute. Some people used to yank on both rings to intentionally stall the chute so it would deflate, the'd fall for a while with a collapsed parachute until they built up enough speed that it would inflate again. I've never done it, but I can see how that would maybe be entertaining. I don't think I would be lighting my parachute on fire though.
