Interesting footwear. Possibly just a thread of yarn better than the footwear in the Indian videos?

Darned if that doesn't look like a Cincinnati Dial Type Mill machining aluminum. Check the logo on the front of the overarm and a few of the lever locations. Could this fellow have been making airplane parts on an American machine to destroy Americans??

"Cigar box factory workers. Tampa, Florida. January, 1909."
There was a box factory here in Minster, Ohio that operated until the 1960s. My mother worked there during WW2 when they transitioned from cigar boxes to packaging for the war effort. Cigar boxes were made through the 60s and everyone in town had those boxes all over the house holding pencils, etc. As I'm typing this, there are 4 El Trelles Caoronas cigar boxes in the cabinet above my computer, holding small items.

I went to a flee market a few years ago and bought a stack of boxes, some were made of wood, I could use a few more. Thanks.
I have a few newer wooden cigar boxes slated for cigar box ukuleles. They make great sounding instruments!
I have a single King Edward cigar box from my childhood filled with random coins and mementos collected over the years , once a very common cigar brand, perhaps it still is.

Wonder what it does?
A Corliss engine is a stationary steam engine, commonly to drive shafting in factories and the like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corliss_steam_engine# Given this is up on blocks, whith peices laid out next to it, I suspect this is one Mesta was building for a customer?
The two rods to activate the intake valves (top of cylinder) and the exhaust valves (bottom of cylinder) indicate that this is not a genuine Corliss design but one of Corliss' competitors. A genuine Corliss design would have a wrist plate centrally mounted on the side of the cylinder driven by a single rod. Four adjustable rods from the wrist plate to the valves would allow independent timing of the valves, the secret to the engine's efficiency. The wrist plate was a feature of Corliss' patent so his competitors had to come up with something different.
Here's a short video I made of a Corliss rescued from a sugar mill and now operating at the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum in Vista, CA. It clearly shows the wrist plate in operation.

According to Inthegroove you're referring to post # 616.
That post was made more than five years ago.
