Just like everything else sold to the US military the price is inflated 5 times. In 1972 I bought a new Dodge pickup for around $2000.00. In 1976 The Unit I WAS in over in Germany received 6 Dodge D200 pickups. The only differences in those and mine were mine was white 2wheel drive called a 3/4 ton and 4 model years older than ones the Army got which were called M880s classed as 1 1/4 ton with so called 4-wheel drive and painted OD green, the paperwork on them showed the Army had paid $14,000.00 each. When I got out in 77, I bought a new D200 Dodge just before the 78 model came out for $6500,00, It was equipped Simmerly to the Army's 76 models except it had the 360 cubic inch engine instead of the 318s in the M880s in 1989 I bought a Dodge with the diesel for $11,000.00
