    Frank S's Tools
How technology has changed, not so long ago no one would have ever considered using what is most likely gasless mig on a coded weld.
I can understand if it is gas shielded or duel shielded gas and flux but hauling a cylinder up along with the machine and all of the other gear would not be all that challenging at least not any more so than having to repair the tower in the first place. But shielding is only as good as the environment around it even on a calm day at ground level the winds can be fierce when you are 300 plus feet in the air so soft panel shielding is almost always required for mig no matter if it is gas , gas and flux or even gasless . All the more reason why stick welding would be my preferred method if I had to be up there
