looked like they were dumping riprap in hopes to stop the undermining of the center support. But at the velocity of that water the 10 inch to 1 1/2 foot sized riprap would only become abrasive particles which would hasten the erosion. Water traveling that fast can move small boulders weighing nearly a ton
