I was pulling a tandem axle car trailer with a snowplow truck loaded on the trailer to property purchased in preparation for multi state move. Speed at one point had been up to over 75 mph, all of a sudden at about 65 mph trailer started fishtailing violently. Was able to hit trailer brakes and get under control and as I was slowing down, a tire and wheel passed me and hit the concrete divide on interstate 90. Stopped on shoulder and saw rear tire and wheel on driver side was AOL. I tracked the tire down about 1/8 of mile down the road. I the divide had not been there, the tire could have crossed the lane and killed someone. Was able to drive about 30 miles an hour on shoulder to next exit about 20 miles down the road and found a parts store to buy a rethreading kit to clean up the threads on the studs, buy new lug nuts and get tire back on to get 200 miles to end of the trip. Now every time I hook the trailer, I check the lug nuts and several times during any trip, didn't take me long to learn my lesson.
