Just think what happens when Joe Dopey is riding it...to it's limits, when the computer (or sensor) malfunctions.

    It isn't AI it's physics.

Not AI? What do you think it is then bloody magic?

It's basically an electronic gimbal, sensors tell the actuators where the leanings are and the actuators compensate.

Maybe you don't know what AI is...AI learns, develops, grows and makes decisions, a self balancing bike system just reacts to inputs.

There you nailed it Bob "sensors and actuators" yup! and when that technology fails, for ANY reason it'll go tits up.

Why? It's still just a motorcycle, it will just be less stable if there is a power failure or communication problem it's not going to drive you into a wall.

Yup. Very doubtful this is any sort of AI. Most likely a bunch of PID loops, possibly with some more complex physics algorithms on top. But probably a bunch of PID loops.

But I'll disagree with you about AI learning, growing and adapting. It doesn't. You take a large dataset and train a model on a very, very fast computer. Once the model is trained it can run on much slower hardware. The model is the "AI" that everyone is colloquially familiar with that. The model, once trained, is basically set in stone. It's very computationally intensive to retrain the model. It never grows or adapts.
