    circular saw attachment for chainsaws

When we first started building our home ( ten miles past the "boonies" ) completely off grid at the time, most of the work was done with chain saws, I wanted one tool so went about building a circular saw attachment that was a direct bolt on, no mods or permanent alterations to the chain saw. The finished product attaches easily. Just remove the side cover bar and chain and replace with attachment. Keep in mind this was 20 years ago so chain brakes were still mounted in the side cover or easily bypassed. I haved used it on Huskies and Sthils but got shelved when safety features required redesign. Currently having problems uploading pics will add them as soon as I can.

That's probably the quickest solution. If you're still having difficulty after the transfer, just let me know.

Simple attachment that does not require permanent alterations to chain saw, and attaches as easily as changing the bar. these are without saw I would like to point out that this version requires the removal of or disabling of chain brake safety features and that circular saw is lacking safety features. Universal fit works on all chain saws WITH SAFETY BRAKE LOCATED IN THE SIDE COVER. More photos soon
Newer version coming soon that will work on new chainsaws

Here is the updated version, change the base plate, added base plate gasket, added adjustable tensioner, modified the input shaft to ease sprocket change.
I threw it on my 018 and the balance, stability, and ability to keep strait cuts is comparable to a conventional circular saw. It now has the added safety of the chain break, and will fit most new small to mid sized chain saws.
