    Imabass's Tools

CPA by day and Master DIY by night

I am just the average DIYer. No project is too big or too small for me to DIY. I like to build motorcycles, tools, farm equipment, etc. It is always more gratifying to build something yourself. I have a decent selection of metal working tools. I am an accountant but also nearly completed my mechanic engineering degree as well. Growing up my father only hired a repairman to do HVAC work and everything else was always built or repaired in house.

I have learned that sometimes it is better to pay someone to do something that I can DIY so I can focus my time on bigger and more fun projects that will save my thousands instead of dollars. Mounting car/truck/tractor tires is the top of that list. I have the tools to DIY and I will DIY when in a jam but if I have the option to pay someone $10 to do it for me I will take that option all day long.

    Hi Imabass,

    Welcome!

I've already been enjoying your first tool posts; I especially like the motorcycle engine hoist leveler. I could've used one of those a couple of years back on my '69 Triumph instead of doing it the hard way!

What's next on your build list?

I am currently working on a 3 point hydraulic tree/post remover. I am calling it JAWS.

I am also building a insulated & heated hose reel box to keep that hose from freezing up in the winter.

I am looking for a broken forklift to re purpose the mast and forks for a 3 point tractor attachment.

I also need to build a better battery box for my tractor so that I can use regular car style batteries vs the odd ball expensive tractor battery.

I am also considering building a front end loader for my tractor.

Trying to decide on to build from scratch or re purpose multiple bush hogs to make a single 10-12' bush hog.

I also have the stuff to build a 3 point adjustable boom pole.

I just re-purposed a truck mounted hay spear that I built a long time ago to mount to a tractor 3 point.

Longer term I will get my water well drilling attachment built and I also want to build a sawmill.

I have tons of homemade tools in my shop. Some of them are really nifty and I don't yet have a video of them yet. As time permits I will try and get some new videos made. These include, homemade engine vat, modified engine stand using slack adjuster and cam from semi trailer brakes, wiring station rack that retracts overhead.
