 by tsbrownie - Keep your welding rods dry. I don't have space for a rod oven, so I have to keep my rods dry from the start. I made these air tight holders and put rods in there straight from the package. Works pretty well; don't see any signs of water/rust on the rods after months of storage.

Materials Used:
- PVC pipe (diameter big enough to hold 1 pack rods. Length about 2 cm "Pin It")
Keep your welding rods dry. I don't have space for a rod oven, so I have to keep my rods dry from the start. I made these air tight holders and put rods in there straight from the package. Works pretty well; don't see any signs of water/rust on the rods after months of storage.
Materials Used:
- PVC pipe (diameter big enough to hold 1 pack rods. Length about 2 cms or 1" longer than rods, including end caps)
- 1 Female end fitting
- 1 Male cap for end fitting
- 1 Pipe cap
- Pipe glue
- Bolt or other for grip
- (optional) brass plug for flush hole
- Teflon tape
