    A great way to melt stuff. Less hydrogen entrainment melting this way too. You'll find that cans are almost pure aluminum. And they will machine like gummy bears. If you wish to tinker, a little copper and zinc will alter that problem. You can figure it out via weight ratios from an alloy chart. Funny thing. Most aluminum cans are made in China. Wonder how that's working out.

    I have been toying with exactly the same idea. And also an oil fired furnace to melt cast iron. But that is a lot heavier stuff to play with. So first an over arm gantry is in order.
