I'm trying to figure out where they thought there was a suitable surface to use a push pole on that vehicle in the first place

When I have to paint I use KBS products
Does not look like that ended well. Sounded like the pushing machine malfunctioning in more than one way. It seems there is a bad misfire in the engine, and the clutch does not seem to be working very well either. What what vintage is that equipment? Appears to be military, but does not seem to be a tank.
what in heck is the black thing, just in line with the 'pole holder' and just above the pole?
