I have been meaning to build a cover over the belt. The belt is short and motor is close to the arbor.
The rpm is the same as a commercial grinder. There are no tool rests to catch your work on. I mainly use the wire wheel, the grinder gets used to smooth burrs off and to round edges. The belt is the only safety concern I would have.
But I do appreciate your concern.
