You deserve a round of applause.
It thrills me when one of Us creates a solution, a group some declare is shrinking.
Dammit, the only thing shrinking is those who recognize it when it occurs.
The ability to produce even a single part from a print involves an intertwined group of resources and skills. Print quality is not any guarantee of the results. Normally, resources are coupled to what is needed.
BUT, reverse engineering is an art unto itself. The most distinctive feature; need is often not coupled to available resources. That is what separates Who Can from wannabes.
I'd add a detail too. 'Can' doesn't mean it just happens, it really is based in the thought process, when need funnels through resources. Even rework in mirroring the coordinates; that's a skill too. The primary (thought) and secondary (resources) are effectively reversed from what generates production.
Admittedly, a lot of sites and opportunities to share this kind of triumph exist, both large and small. Likely, many of Us haunt a few. But I have to say, those very large sites don't seem to display the percentage of ingenuity and skilled descriptions I see here on HMT.net!
