A beautiful piece of machining, possibly the best stamping jig I have ever seen. It has the added advantage that it can be adapted to compensate for kerning if longer stampings are to be done and spaces need to be made to look acceptable.. What would be required is a list of the distances from the right hand of the letter to the right hand of the punch, the exception being 'A' and 'V' if used together. I have done a random measurement of my old ¼" letter punches and got these figures. 'D' = 3.6 mm, 'H' = 2.23 mm, 'I' = 4.63 mm, 'K' = 3.47 mm, 'M' = 2.38 mm, 'O' = 2.71 mm, 'W' (the widest letter) = 1.96 mm.

Goodmorning Hans, thanks so much for your fantastic message to me:i'm so proud that you liked my stamping jig, your suggestion is very useful, i was thinking
to add the distances that you wrote, on the back of the plate; i can make it with my laser and it can be a table to read like the screws table of pitch, diameter etc !! Have a nice day Hans and see you soon here ont this wonderful site !!

That's an absolutely beautiful build! Now if you could just make some way to prevent my dumb ass from putting the punches in upside down.

That scar would just be part of the story that AB-SHOP was talking about.
No matter how well made a tool has no validity unless it is used.

Some punches have a mark on the side facing you. if yours do not, grind a mark to remind yourself.
