unfortunately I have lost the link to the article, but there was a very detailed article by a home machinist who was making etruscan horse bronze replicas which were sold in the gift shop of his local museum. The article was very detailed covering the entire process of lost wax, through to the various patina methods he used to "age" the sculptures.

If anyone knows the article, or has a link to it, I certainly would appreciate it.
