Custom edge protectors for X-acto knife blades can be made very quickly.
Arrange blades on disused refrigerator magnet...
glue thin strips of wood around blade edges...
scissor from magnet and stick on knife...
A cardboard cover could be glued over the strips of wood but I don't bother.
