This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle 4-Door Sedan, built by upman on the excellent Chevelles.com, is a great example of a powerful but reasonable Chevelle that was built to drive.

It was bought with 68,000 original miles, and included the stock 283, which was replaced by a 468 hooked to a 700R4. The steering, suspension, and brakes were replaced, and the body was put on an El Camino chassis.

You can tell that the builder has some experience with these restorations. He replaces what needs replacement, uses POR-15 acknowledging that it's not a show vehicle, throws in a Fast EZ-EFI for improved performance and mileage, and delays the cost of a paint job, knowing that he can enjoy it plenty in black primer.
