Repair to reading glasses

My friend, Jim, told me a couple of years ago, that he had never broken a pair of spectacles. (He’s my age and has similar interests). I break mine with depressing frequency.
The weak point on these, which i’ve had about three months, is the bridge. Insurance covers the other pair, broken in the same place.
Since I need them in the workshop anyway, I thought I might as well glue them into a pair of safety glasses!
