    reseating JIC fitting tool

In needing to do some testing I noticed my new fitting to make up the test kit was back ordered. leaving me no choice but to dig through some scrap fittings and hopefully find a suitable temporary substitute
the only one I could find should have been included in the last load of scrap iron but I just needed to make it work a couple of times
To do this I took another equally scrap fitting and cut a few slots in the seating area to use it as a reseating tool

A little more cleaning and I can make this work

Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products

Much like a few hacksaw slots along a bolt to clean-up an internal thread or in a nut for an external one.

yep. since if was a female swivel jic fitting I needed to salvage this seemed like the easy way out without having to chuck it up in the lathe and do a 37° cleanup to it. There is usually not a lot of meat in there to cut away either
