Part of the issue with bandsaws for sale, being presented horizontal & "vertical".
When elevated, the worm is no longer at end of gearcase bathed in lubricant, darn ol' gravity. Just being wet, lasts only so long. Worms and right angle drives depend on circulation, not especially pumped or splashed, but continual.
Locations of drive and exit shaft, fill and drain plugs, and especially the sight plug are best clue. Not aware what lubes are recommended, subbing true gear for non-detergent motor oil would likely help. Additives; YMMV.
