    Then:

I have actually made such a sander for angle grinder a while ago. The speed of an angle grinder is too high so it must be regulated down, as I have done with gears, as you can see in the picture. It works fine so I'll make some safety covers around the gears.

You can use one of those Router Speed Controllers from Harbor Freight (or elsewhere) to regulate the speed of the angle grinder. Those router controllers will turn single speed universal brush motors into variable speed tools. You can even use one on a shop vacuum to decrease suction.

In lieu of using a small right angle grinder to make one of these pipe sanders a rt angle polisher could be used many come with variable speed and their max RPM is only around 3000 RPM or less
Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products

The best ideas are often the simplest, and this is one of the very best, and excellently executed. The regular alternative to your process is replacement, and that is very spendy! Well done, and thank you for sharing.

    Very nice workmanship!
The comments prompted me to look around a bit. Pragmatic Lee does a build on you tube of a 30 inch pipe sander/polisher that I am going to build. He built it to fit an angle grinder. Very do-able!
