    mklotz's Tools

    Tips tip

Despite the fact that it aggravates my OCD terribly, here's a hint that even I follow in my shop.

If you use the pictured type of holders for your hex screwdriver bits, consider storing them in staggered fashion as shown. This makes it easy to pick up the holder and try bits in a hex socket - something that's a lot more awkward if they're all on the same side. It also makes it a lot easier to extract a chosen bit with your fingertips.

I dab paint on the tips of all my metric bits for easy identification. (Oh to live in an advanced country where you only need one set of tools.) The color doesn't matter since there are only two choices. I also paint my pozidrive bits because they're easy to confuse with Phillips.
