    I'm guessing the rubber bumper is a bigger diameter than the cutter cords/chins/string (what ever it is). OTherwise the trees would be badly scared.
    Anybody know for sure ???

    Trees are very tough; they don't scare easily and if scarred, they're not too scary despite the scars.
