    Turning outside calipers inside

My smallest inside calipers could not even be forced into a 7/8" ID tube and I needed to verify a 1" counter bore about an inch inside the opening
So I modified an old pair of outside calipers to be inside.

    Odd leg Jenny modification

    Hi All

Frank I hope you don’t mind me high jacking your post. But one of the best modifications I made, was to a set of odd leg Jenny’s. I use these all the time for marking out. Often there is a need to mark off from a shoulder, tipped sheet metal edge, flanged edge and casting etc. The main reason I opted for this modification was to aid marking out flanged edges from templates on copper boiler plate’s.

So I simply inverted the leg so it could run along the opposite side. Hopefully the photos below will make this clearer.

Yep, the use of these are just about forgotten in the world of CNC and digital measuring devices. It takes a delicate touch to use them properly
