    Uglydog Intro

    Thanks for letting me in.
I do some lathe and mill work, some TIG and shielded welding, as well as some scraping and machine tool rebuilds.
Very much in learning mode, as I only get to play in the shop on the weekends.
I got a small 4x4x9 used toolmakers oven yesterday and am hoping to start moving carbon around. Soon!!

    Hi Daryl,

    Welcome!

I think most of us who are still yet-to-retire are in the same boat regarding shop time on the weekends. Sometimes not even then!

Let's see some pics of the new toolmaker's oven. What's the first thing you're planning to make with it?

Hope to finish the rear tool post for the Gisholt Ram Turret #5.
I'm copying the much more current Warner Swasey design with the adjustable wedge.
    Planning on hardening the wedge.
The rear parting tool will expedite the fab of several replacement axles for some 7.5ton machine skates.
Turn, bore, thread for grease zerks.

Here is a pic of the oven without the front expanded metal safety screen.
The Romex is temporary, as I plan to hard wire her.
You might be able to see the dangling thermo-couple. I also need to figure out how I'm gonna prop her up.
    She is a little oven. Only 4x4x9, 120volt, 1phase, 20amps.
The tape measure is only temporary as well.
