    Tuomas's Tools

    Work pictures..

I tought having a thread for diy-tools that you use at your workplace could be interesting.

Please feel free to post yours too.

    Here is some mine.
This was a little overkill solution, but was definatelly strong enough. 50 ton jack, for pressing plates against rips.

    Re-located the welding wire spool
Solid wire comes from the 100kg marathon pack on the upleft..

But when using flux cored wire, it needed to be placed on top of the wire feeder ( that red box )
It was a little complex task. So i made a new placement for the spool.

    Ok..

Here is another work tool hack.

Pneumatic chipping hammer works nicely as a powerfile too.

My high school instructor is rolling in his grave. I got chewed often for drawing the file back over the work! I do like the idea though! Thanks!

    Yeah. Mine too.

This is mostly used for the situtations that there's no other option.

Sometimes at my workplace happens that machinist makes a mistake, and you need to fill them with welds.
Even that you use a tig, it can make a splatter, there is allways cutting fluid or something no matter how much you try to wipe it off..

And of course that splatter ends to bottom of the groove or somewhere else hard to reach place.
Machinist doesn't want to change tool, and setting etc takes too much time. So you need to file it.

I have used this couple times to finish fix welds or to remove splatters. But for the long time use, it ruins files too fast. So, its just a tip for the solutions when possibly ruining a file is the cheapest option.
